Hello... Back Porch Alley Fans and Friends !
Thank you so much for your support! We had a great run, had incredible musicians on stage, lots of good meals, and a heck of a lot of fun.
Some of you have driven or walked by and groaned "Oh no! They're closed !" Yep, sorry. Believe me we are SAD about it. We just ran out of operating capital. Back in November 2008 when we signed the lease we had a business plan that included a certain amount of money to be gotten in December... that money did not come through! But we were committed and decided to go for it anyway. As it turns out: six months after opening we ran into that financial wall. Our volumes were coming up as planned, but we couldn't come up with the private money we needed. The plan was good, but the money wasn't there to stretch through the Summer, just when we were going to be able to open the big Garage Door to the outside too! Damn.
We had just finished remodeling the upstairs as well, ready for private parties and big nights, the eyrie, the lookout, the Back Porch of the Alley! We have a brand new bathroom and office up there, with extra storage, as well as the strong, cool, see-through railing. The SOUND is great up there too from music on the stage. Damn again.
So... the place is AVAILABLE FOR TAKEOVER, BUSINESS FOR SALE, ASSUMABLE LEASE, dialed in and ready to go:
- the KITCHEN is set up with all the chef equipment, grille, fryers, convection oven, food prep cooler, warmers, plateware, etc;
- the BAR is set up with 6 keg beer cooler, the beautiful shelving for liquor display we built, all drink gun dispensers and jockey boxes, glassware, mixologist tools, etc;
- the RESTAURANT SPACE itself has all tables, chairs, wiring for the theatre sound system, witing for the satellite or cable feeds to the big screens...;
- and of course the UPSTAIRS now with refinished fir flooring, railing, bathroom, office and storage;
- the COMPUTER SYSTEM has two touch-screen stations downstairs with the server upstairs in the office, with Maitre'D software (the software of preference in the trade);
- the BATHROOMS downstairs are really nice with all the tile and new fixtures aren't they?
- The electrical system has been mapped, everything WORKS, it's clean, it's REALLY NICE now that we have it all fixed up, easily an $80,000 remodel...
Know anyone who wants to walk in and have a Restaurant or a Nightclub? ALL THAT HAS TO BE DONE IS TO PRESS PLAY. How about YOU?
Terms and deposits are negotiable, there are some minimums, but we WANT TO SEE THE SPACE SUCCEED! Give me a call and we can chat: LAYNE 360-305-4444 Time is short, already talking to a couple of people, so call NOW, today is July 3rd, want to have commitments by end of next week if possible and all the details worked out by the end of the month.
Hey did you see? The WA State Liquor Control Board is putting into effect a "Nightclub License" for $2,000 a year, goes into effect August 1, 2009, where you don't have to be open 5 days a week (one of the requirements we had to live by) and can still run bands, entertainment and sell liquor with minimal food requirements. You don't have to be a Restaurant anymore to have a "spirits" club. Wow just in time... Oh, no... gosh.... not in time, for us... NEXT!!!
